Consultations

Consultation

MGI provides individualized consulting services to small business owners tailored to meet the clients’ immediate requirements. Once owners have described their consulting requirements, MGI then proposes a program to address the requirements and the appropriate consultant(s) to deliver the services.

In addition, MGI offers consulting services targeted at specific business situations:

PEG Implementation Support: for PEG Members

An MGI consultant spends a day on-site working with a company’s CEO and staff to develop an implementation plan for the top priority recommendations received from the client’s PEG critique. The consultant documents the plan throughout the day and delivers it at the end of the day. The implementation plan includes: prioritization of all the PEG recommendations, detailed steps for implementation of the top 3 - 5 recommendations, assignment of responsibility for implementation to various staff members and a calendar for follow-up.

One-Day Assessment: for Non-PEG Members

This consultation, done by a member of the MGI staff, provides a one-day on-site assessment of a business focusing on the client’s areas of concern. The model for this service is the PEG critique, and the aim is to provide similar value to that accomplished in the two-day critique carried out by a team. Following the assessment visit, the client receives a documented report and written recommendations specifically for the business in a format suitable for implementation and follow-up.

MGI Advisory Program (MAP)

MAP targets a specific issue plaguing a business and provides an MGI consultant to work one-on-one with the CEO or a key employee on the issue over a two month period. The employee meets with the consultant to map out a plan for resolving the issue. Communication then continues by phone and/or email during the period.

CEO Counselor

This counseling service provides for a long-term assessment/advisement relationship between an experienced MGI consultant and a CEO to address issues of importance to the CEO. At their first meeting, the CEO commits to paper his/her expectations of the relationship, hoped for results, and establishment of how and when those goals will be measured and evaluated. Subsequently, they will continue to meet at mutually agreeable times to address the issues. The MGI consultant will also provide advisory support via the telephone and/or e-mail.
